
australia’s public health system has reportedly been an exemplar for other health systems of the world. yet, despite its standing, the country has nine key areas which require attention. these areas were prioritized to address the persistent health concerns facing australia’s population. they are: cancer control, cardiovascular health, injury prevention, mental health, obesity, indigenous health, population health, sexual and reproductive health, and rural health. in this article, we’ll take a closer look at these priority areas and explore strategies for improving public health.
